Meet the dairy queens of the farm, our Brown Swiss cows! We currently have two "big brown gals" - Opal (yearling heifer) and Nani (3yr first calf heifer). Opal and Nani are half sisters (same dam) and the best of friends. Both are purebred Brown Swiss and both are A2A2.

Nani is trained to hand milking or machine milking, but we typically machine milk with our Nupulse system. We feel this keeps the milk as clean and fresh as possible by essentially eliminating the possibility of contamination. Our machine is cleaned and sanitized after each milking using industry standard cleaning solutions and practices. Milk samples are sent to the lab monthly as part of our herd health management.
